A builder working on a construction site horrified star guests at a London Fashion Week show on Tuesday (16Sep14) when he plunged through a glass roof. The accident happened during a Fashion East event at a Topshop Show Space in the city, and attendees including former MTV presenter Alexa Chung and pop star Pixie Lott were left shocked by the incident.
Eyewitnesses report the victim toppled through a corrugated plastic roof panel and bounced off a large metal pipe before plummeting 50 feet (15.3 metres) and landing on his back.
Paramedics were called and the man, who has not been named, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
A witness tells Britain's Daily Telegraph, "At first there was confusion, we thought it was a light falling over. Then security men started running backstage and there was loud shouting. The weird thing was that the show just carried on. The whole audience was totally bewildered."
A spokesman tells Vogue, "The way that the Topshop space is built, the walls that separate the catwalk and audience space from backstage don't go all the way to the ceiling, so people could see that something had happened, but it did not in any way endanger the audience. It didn't happen above people's heads and there was no one in the space where he fell."
Actors including Catherine Keener, Elle Fanning and Bobby Cannavale took to the stage for a one-act play as part of the Opening Ceremony brand's New York Fashion Week runway show on Sunday (07Sep14). The fashion house's founders and creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon showcased their spring 2015 collection at a unique venue and invited celebrities and style mavens alike to the iconic Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center.
Guests were escorted through the back of the theatre and ushered to their seats, which were placed on the same stage as the performers in the hour-long play starring Fanning, who was making her stage debut, Keener, Cannavale, Alia Shawkat, John Cameron Mitchell, Rashida Jones, and models Dree Hemingway and Karlie Kloss.
Titled 100% Lost Cotton, the production featured model characters played by Fanning and Hemingway waiting for a fitting at an Opening Ceremony runway show. Mitchell and Keener played versions of designers Lim and Leon, while Cannavale served as a stylist secretly in love with Leon's husband.
100% Lost Cotton was written by filmmaker Spike Jonze and actor Jonah Hill, who jokingly reminded the audience before the show began that it was his first foray into the theatre.
Among the guests checking out the one-of-a-kind runway show was Fanning's older sister Dakota, Yoko Ono, Rosario Dawson, Chloe Sevigny, Skrillex, Joe Jonas, Alexa Chung, Mindy Kaling and Arcade Fire's Win Butler.

Celebrities including Jada Pinkett Smith, Amy Poehler and Leona Lewis have got behind an online campaign demanding the release of the kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls. More than 250 young females have been snatched from northern Nigeria in recent weeks by members of the Boko Haram extremist group, who want to deny them a Western education.
A campaign has been launched via Twitter.com, with the 'hashtag' #BringBackOurGirls, and now several stars are supporting the protest, which demands the girls' release and aims to put pressure on the Nigerian government to take action. Pinkett Smith urged fans to sign a petition calling for U.S. or global help with the situation.
Other stars to back the drive include actresses Alyssa Milano, Queen Latifah and Minnie Driver. Comedienne Poehler posted a picture of herself holding a piece of paper with the hashtag written on it, and told followers, "Shout! Participate! Show that you care!"
British singer Lewis posted a similar snap, while TV presenter/model Alexa Chung wrote her message in red lipstick on a mirror.
Singer Wyclef Jean wrote, "Children are the reward of life. Rescue our Nigerian sisters. The world is watching, Make your voice heard. Retweet! #BringBackOurGirls."
Public figures have also joined in the campaign, including U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, and teenager Malala Yousafzai, who was shot for campaigning for women's rights in Pakistan.
Stars including supermodel Kate Moss, rocker Johnny Borrell and former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman were among the mourners who gathered at the funeral of tragic socialite Peaches Geldof on Monday (21Apr14). Friends and family members came together to pay their last respects to Bob Geldof's daughter at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence church in Kent, England.
Moss was joined by her rocker husband Jamie Hince at the private service, while other mourners included musician Jools Holland, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Sting's wife Trudie Styler, TV presenter Alexa Chung, actress Jaime Winstone and music mogul Alan McGee.
Geldof's coffin was painted light blue and adorned with a mural of the star with her husband Thomas Cohen, their two sons and their pet dogs.
The church where the funeral was held, close to the Geldof family home, had special significance as it was where the late TV star married her husband Cohen in 2012 and where her father wed her mother Paula Yates in 1988.
Yates' ashes were scattered in the church grounds following her death from a drug overdose in 2000.
The 25-year-old mother-of-two was found dead at her home in Kent on 7 April (14). The cause of death is still not known.

British rapper Blood Orange wants to donate proceeds from a fan fundraiser, designed to help him back on his feet after an apartment fire, to charity because he feels "extremely uncomfortable" accepting the money. The artist, who produces music under his real name, Devonte 'Dev' Hynes, suffered a pre-Christmas tragedy on Tuesday (17Dec13) when a blaze at his New York home killed his puppy and destroyed all of his belongings.
His girlfriend's mother, Robin Urbani, subsequently created a page on fundraising website GoFundMe.com asking fans to make donations to aid the musician. The initial goal of $5,000 (£3,330) was reached within two hours and the figure continued to rise, thanks to celebrity support from the likes of British singer Lily Allen and TV presenter Alexa Chung.
The charity drive has since topped $24,000 (£16,000), but Hynes reveals he is reluctant to take the cash for himself.
Taking to his Tumblr.com page on Thursday (19Dec13), he writes, "If I am honest, the fundraiser makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. This isn't me saying I don't need the money, to reiterate, I have lost everything.
"This isn't me being unappreciative... It's overwhelming in the most extremely nicest way that people would care about this but as I stated before, so many people have nothing they can do to rebuild their life from scratch."
Instead, Hynes wants to hand over a chunk of the money to goodwill causes: "I want to give all the money to charity, 3 charities to be precise which I will explain further at a future point, that's how I feel. I'm being spoken to by people who are close and understand my situation and are trying to advise me. As I probably am still in shock, and may not have a choice but to accept some of the money, and then think about charities, I don't know... I don't know where my head is at right now..."
