Heavyweight The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron is on a mission to lose weight so he can compete for roles in action movies. The actor has always been a big guy but a recent embarrassing incident on a plane, when he was asked to gather his belongings and leave because he was taking up too much space, made him realise it's time to slim down.
And he's in talks to join a programme that will help him achieve his goal.
He tells Access Hollywood Live, "I figured the best way to do it is to have a team behind you, encouraging you. The only reason I have a weight issue is because my lack of inconsistency (sic)... If you tell me to do it myself, I'm probably not gonna do it... With everything I have going on and with everything I'm doing, the last thing on my mind is getting up and going to the gym."
But Aaron has a dream in mind to help him succeed in his battle with the bulge: "I do wanna be in action films... and I was thinking that it would be cool one day to just be on the beach with a tank top on and not feel insecure about the way I look in that tank top."
Actor Quinton Aaron was forced to give up his seat on a flight from Pennsylvania to New York City on Friday (04Apr14) when stewards told him he was too big to fly. The Blind Side star, who reportedly weighs in at close to 500 pounds (227 kilograms) was asked to leave the plane by an attendant when the passenger next to him could not get to his seat.
Aaron obliged and booked two seats on a later flight.
He tells TMZ.com, "I definitely need two seats... It worked out for the better... my knees weren't pushed into the back of the metal on someone else's seat."
The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron was blindsided by police officers in Los Angeles on Thursday night (06Feb14) after they pulled his car over and discovered it wasn't registered properly. The actor was caught out in the rain on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood when traffic cops impounded his SUV because Aaron had failed to complete the registration process and the tags on his vehicle had expired.
Aaron tells TMZ.com he tried to reason with the officers, telling them he simply hadn't had the vehicle smog checked, but reveals, "They wouldn't listen."
The actor had to call for a taxi to take him home.
"I called to congratulate her on her first Mother's Day. She's having a great time taking care of baby Louis." Actor QUINTON AARON insists his THE BLIND SIDE co-star SANDRA BULLOCK is doing well as a single mum to the adopted baby boy following the breakdown of her marriage to Jesse James.
The 45 year old won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy - a wealthy woman who adopted a poor African-American teenager into her family and helped him forge a career as a football star - in The Blind Side.
Aaron, who played her onscreen son Michael Oher in the movie, admits Bullock's real life story reflects the plot of the film - and he's delighted his co-star has found happiness by welcoming little Louis into her life.
He tells People.com, "I am truly overjoyed for Sandra - what amazing news and so special that she has been able to keep this time private between her and the baby. Just as she played an exceptional mother in The Blind Side, her caring nature will make her an amazing mother to Louis!"
"I didn't meet him until after (shooting), at the premiere. He seemed like a real cool guy, real loving. They seemed like the perfect couple when I met them. I had a lot of respect for him." THE BLIND SIDE star QUINTON AARON was stunned by the affair allegations that rocked his co-star SANDRA BULLOCK's marriage to JESSE JAMES.
The 25 year old stars alongside the Speed actress in the Oscar-nominated movie, which tells the true story of a college football star and his adoptive parents.
Aaron admits he has been "in love" with Bullock for many years and only recently discovered she has been wed to motorcycle builder Jesse James, since 2005 - but he's still full of praise for his onscreen mother.
He tells People.com, "I've been a fan of hers for years - I was in love with her for years! So I found out she was married and I was like, 'Okay, I'll settle for friendship.' She's just awesome. She's the most caring, loving individual that I know. She's one of the most beautiful women inside and out that anybody can have the pleasure of knowing, meeting and working with, and I felt so honoured to be in that position. She'll love and care for anybody and respect anybody, and I love her for that. She's just real."
