Calvin Klein's on/off boyfriend Nick Gruber was caught up in a nightclub brawl at the weekend (20-21Jul13). Gruber was partying with pals at a bar in the Hamptons, New York on Saturday night (20Jul13) when he clashed with a fellow reveller. He lashed out and punched the unidentified man in the face for shoving him.
Cops were called to the venue, SL East, but model Gruber had already left. He has not been quizzed by officers over the incident.
A spokesman for Gruber tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "The guy pushed him first, then there was a bit more pushing. Nick punched him out of self defence, and the guy suffered a cut above his eye. Nick is fine... Nick does not know the guy, nor does he know why the guy started pushing him. Unfortunately, when you are a well known face, people target you for the wrong reasons."

"That snail is fast!" This tagline sums up all you need to know about Turbo, the rather ironic tale of a garden snail who races in the Indy 500. The latest computer-animated flick from Dreamworks tells a typically predictable underdog story, with the proper doses of humor and heartwarming moments. It's totally cliché, but still great family fun.
Voiced by Ryan Reynolds, Turbo (née Theo) is a simple garden snail who is fed up with his humdrum life in the tomato patch with his overly cautious brother Chet (Paul Giamatti). When he isn't working with overripe fruit at "the plant," the ambitious little snail watches old car race tapes and dreams of being fast like French-Canadian Indy 500 champion Guy Gagne (voiced by Bill Hader). Then one fateful night, Turbo is exposed to nitrous oxide and effectively transformed into a car, equipped with a radio, alarm, headlights, and best of all, super speed. Turbo's newfound abilities quickly come into play when he rescues Chet from a crow attack, but the two brothers are then snatched up by a taco truck driver named Tito Lopez. Just when they think they're about to become escargot, Chet and Turbo are surprised to find that Tito only wants to enter them in a snail race.
Tito and his brother Angelo operate the struggling Dos Bros taco stand in a ramshackle strip mall with a hobby shop, nail salon, and auto repair shop. The owners are friends, racing snails together to take their minds off their failing businesses. But when they discover Turbo's incredible talents, they decide to show him off to the world. With hopes to win the Indy 500 and put their strip mall on the map, the shop owners and their snails band together to travel to Indianapolis. Then, it's all up to Turbo and his supersnail speed.
With a star-studded cast boasting the likes of Maya Rudolph, Samuel L. Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Michelle Rodriguez, Luis Guzmán, Michale Pena and Richard Jenkins, Turbo is an adorable film about a little snail with big dreams. While some animated movies focus solely on entertaining the kids, and others devote too much energy to appeasing the adults, Turbo manages to achieve a nice balance of humor that will have parents and their children laughing together. And it promotes the inspiring messages that we want our children to be exposed to: 1) Follow your dreams, no matter how outlandish they may be. 2) Your heroes may disappoint you, but you can become your own hero. 3) Taco trucks are awesome.
Indeed, Turbo features some nice contemporary touches, like the ever-popular food truck, a viral video subplot, and a French-accented car-racing villain à la Talladega Nights. Still, there is absolutely nothing surprising about this movie, which isn't necessarily to its detriment but certainly makes for a less exciting viewing experience. There's comic relief (most notably Ken Jeong's voice performance as a feisty female manicurist) and a bit of suspense, but we're never too worried that things won't turn out okay in the end. Is it realistic? Of course not. But is it fun? Most definitely. In effect, it's an easy movie to watch and enjoy for 90 minutes or so, but you probably won't find yourself hankering for a repeat viewing. While Turbo is nothing groundbreaking, it's a charming film with a lot of heart.

The Jonas Brothers embarked on a two-year hiatus after struggling to come up with material for their fifth album. The band took a break in 2010 and the siblings separated to work on solo projects, and Kevin Jonas has now revealed the hiatus was sparked by struggles in the recording studio.
He tells Billboard.com, "We got in the studio and we started writing and it didn't feel right. It was like, 'Ugh, it's not happening yet'. So we took some time off. We were able to say, 'OK, this isn't right for us yet,' and that was fine."
The band regrouped in 2012 to start recording again and Jonas admits they were back on form after the long break: "We came back together and wrote (new single First Time) and then everything changed. We were like, 'Right now we know what we're looking to do. Things are a little bit different' and the focus, the album, all of it changed and it really triggered some forward progress."
Jonas reveals the currently-untitled new album, which is due for release later this year (13), features new musical influences and will "represent who we are and where we're at now".
He adds, "In the past we used influences that inspired us - the Beatles, the Jackson 5, things like that. This time around we used influences that were happening for us now, new music... We really listen to a lot of Frank Ocean, Miguel, Calvin Harris, artists that were doing something unique in the moment we were writing this album."
British pop star Cheryl Cole turned 30 in style with a wild night out in Las Vegas over the weekend (29-30Jun13). The former Girls Aloud star headed to Sin City on Saturday (29Jun13) with her dancer boyfriend Tre Holloway and her bandmates and best pals Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts.
Cole's entourage hit the city's top haunt Hakkasan and danced the night away to a set by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, who previously teamed up with the singer on her track Call My Name.
On Sunday (30Jun13), the day of her birthday, Cole hosted a lavish pool party at a private home in Malibu, California, where models in mermaid costumes lounged next to the water and guests played around in a giant inflatable ball.
After being inundated with congratulations messages from fans on Twitter.com, Cole tweeted, "Awwww!!! Thank you all so much for my birthday wishes... you are the sweetest!!!!!!"
Rasputin — he's a bad guy, right? High school global history class pretty much swept over that chapter to devote enough time to World War I, so all we really have to go by is Anastasia, in which the historical figure was embodied by a tall, deplorable, Jafar-ian villain. So naturally, when you think Rasputin, you think Leonardo DiCaprio.
Unsatisfied with Calvin Candie as the identifying "going beyond type" role, DiCaprio is going for the role of Rasputin in a developing biopic about the Russian Imperial Family's turn-of-the-20th-century advisor. Laden with a mysterious life story (and an even more mysterious death story), Rasputin should make for a pretty interesting central figure in a script to be crafted by American Sniper writer Jason Hall.
Deadline reports that the Warner Bros. project will be headlined by DiCaprio, who will either have to do some serious Christian Bale-style ugly-getting for this role, or will turn Rasputin into a newly alluring figure.

The Bounce hitmaker was rumoured to have become involved with Ora earlier this year (13) after his split from Russian supermodel Anne Vyalitsyna, and now the singer has made their relationship public.
Ora posted a picture of herself cuddled up to Harris on her Twitter page with the caption "Miss you" on Friday (31May13).
She also made a 'sad face' emblem out of sugar packets and posted the picture online, adding, "I'm sad. Without you."
