Fashion designer/filmmaker Tom Ford was once left red-faced after unexpectedly running into legendary Vogue editor Anna Wintour during a walk on a nudist beach. The style guru opened up about the mortifying meeting during a speech at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York City on Monday (11Nov13), revealing he was caught naked by a fully-clothed Wintour on a nudist beach in Caribbean hotspot St. Barts.
He said, "It was like one of those dreams in high school when everyone has clothes on except you."
Ford also dished out advise to young designers hoping to make it big in the fashion world in front of a crowd, which included Wintour.
Julianne Moore, who starred in Ford's directorial debut A Single Man, introduced Ford to the stage, revealing how he made her feel at ease when they first met in the 1990s just months after she had given birth.
She said, "He was handsome, charming, gracious and absolutely took my breath away. And he assured me that, if I didn't feel comfortable in his dress, that it was fine. He said, 'Wear it, don't wear it - it's just a dress. Don't worry about it.'"
Patrick Swayze's 1990 film Ghost is heading to the small screen for a new TV adaptation. The hit film, which starred Swayze as a ghost trying to avenge his death and protect his fiancee, played by Demi Moore, grossed more than $500 million (GBP333,000) worldwide, scored Academy Awards for co-star Whoopi Goldberg and screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, and was even adapted into a Broadway musical.
And now bosses at Paramount Television have recruited TV producers Jeff Pinkner and Akiva Goldsman to co-write a pilot for a planned TV adaptation.
Pinkner and Goldsman previously worked together on cult sci-fi series Fringe.
Julianne Moore is urging fellow veteran actresses to quit complaining about a lack of Hollywood roles for older women. The Hunger Games star, 52, began her career in the early 1980s and is still enjoying sought-after parts in blockbuster movies even in her sixth decade.
Other ageing screen sirens often moan that big roles dry up for female stars as they get older, but Moore is adamant complaining about it only reinforces Hollywood ageism - although she admits she has been "lucky" during her career.
She tells InStyle magazine, "I can't complain. I've been pretty lucky. And I think the more we talk about it, the more we make it real. I hate being asked about this stuff! Let's appreciate where we are. Let's not wish our lives away."
Actress/singer Rumer Willis has reportedly split from boyfriend Jayson Blair. The eldest daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis has called it quits with her beau after a year of dating, sources confirm to Us Weekly.

Justin Bieber has scrapped plans to launch a clothing line with Lil Twist after falling out with his former pal, according to a U.S. report. The Never Say Never hitmaker applied for the trademark for Wild Kidz (sic) in September (13), and planned to release a fashion collection consisting of T-shirts, according to TMZ.com.
However, Bieber has decided to axe the project and allow the rapper, who has been staying at his home in Calabasas, California for the past year, to keep the rights to the name.
This is the latest drama between Lil Twist, real name Christopher Moore, and Bieber - in August (13), a woman filed a battery report against Moore, alleging he grabbed her arm during a party at the pop star's mansion, and, in July (13), he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) while behind the wheel of Bieber's Fisker Karma sportscar.
Country stars Luke Bryan and Zac Brown ended their feud with an embrace at the 47th annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday night (06Nov13). As event co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood urged warring country stars to get along by singing War's Why Can't We Be Friends, Bryan and Brown met in the audience at the Bridgestone Arena for a hug.
The two stars fell out when Brown went public with his dislike for Bryan's hit My Kinda Night, which he opened the show with.
The Zac Brown Band frontman called the single the "worst song" he's ever heard, adding it makes him want to "throw up" every time he hears it.
Justin Moore and Jason Aldean both jumped to Bryan's defence, but the singer himself opted not to fight back.
Paisley and Underwood, who are co-hosting the ceremony for the sixth time, also poked fun at feuds between Kanye West and comedian Jimmy Kimmel and the Jonas Brothers as part of their impromptu acoustic performance at the top of the show, and then called on singer Kellie Pickler to hand out "feuding assignments" to stars like newlywed Kelly Clarkson, who was urged to start a fight with her real-life mother-in-law Reba McEntire, with Paisley joking, "That was bound to happen eventually!" - and Kenny Rogers, who was picked to feud with the Celebrity singer onstage.
Paisley stopped singing and hurled joke insults at the Coward of the County singer, stating, "Kenny Rogers is pure evil!"
Ashton Kutcher is eager to propose to girlfriend Mila Kunis as soon as his divorce from Demi Moore is finalised, according to a U.K. report. The Two and a Half Men star has been dating Kunis since last year (12) but has been embroiled in negotiations over a financial settlement with Moore since they split in 2011.
In October (13), the Ghost star dropped her demands for spousal support and agreed to settle for a chunk of Kutcher's wealth and a number of shares in his various technology start-up companies, paving the way for Kutcher to propose to Kunis.
A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Demi and Ashton's divorce has cast a cloud over his and Mila's relationship because it's dragged on for so long. Thankfully Demi's turned a corner. She's no longer bitter and she wants the divorce over as soon as possible so she can get on with her life too.
"They're all happy and the papers are signed and with the lawyers now, so Ashton's free to officially propose to Mila. Both of them want to marry and have children."
Actress Julianne Moore initially snubbed the chance to appear in new comedy Don Jon as she was convinced it was a porn movie. The Hours star has a role in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's feature-length directorial debut, in which he stars as a young man struggling with a porn addiction, but she almost turned down the movie offer when she was first handed the script as she feared the plot would be used as an excuse for multiple sex scenes.
She tells Britain's Event magazine, "I heard that the subject was porn and thought, 'Ugh, I don't want to read it...' (I read the script when) I was on a plane sitting next to my husband; I looked at him and said, 'Wow, this is not about porn, it's about unrealistic media images that are preventing people from being themselves...' Ultimately it's a film about intimacy, which is quite daring."
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire might be about to set theaters ablaze, but the most die-hard Hunger Games fans are already looking forward to the franchise’s two-part conclusion. Thankfully, Hollywood has been helpful and the casting mill has been providing excited book fans with faces to put to the names we’ve all memorized from Suzanne Collins’ bestselling trilogy.
Obviously when discussing casting news from Mockingjay, some book spoilers will be discussed. So here’s your SPOILER WARNING in case you haven’t made it to the final page of The Hunger Games trilogy just yet.
Natalie Dormer is CressidaCressida is a reality producer and director who follows Katniss around, documenting her life for the population. In the books, Cressida is described as being bald with a head tattoo. This might be a bit of a problem for the brunette Dormer, who probably needs her lovely locks to continue playing Margaery Tyrell in HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Julianne Moore is President Alma CoinThe biggest casting coup for the final two films. It’s never a bad sign when A-list Oscar-nominated actress Julianne Moore agrees to show up in your film. Moore will be playing Alma Coin, the President of the mysterious District 13, long thought to have been wiped out by the Capitol. One of the biggest new characters in the final book, she’ll be sure to have some juicy scenes with Jennifer Lawrence’s accidental rebel Katniss.
Stef Dawson is Annie CrestaFinnick’s great love is former Games winner Annie, who has since gone a little nutty over time. She’ll be sitting out Catching Fire, but will show up in Mockingjay played by a relative newcomer, Australian actress Stef Dawson.
Lily Rabe is Commander LymeA former winner of the Hunger Games, Lyme leads the rebellion in District 2. In the books the part isn’t very large, but casting well known American Horror Story alum Lily Rabe probably means the part is will be expanded a bit for the film version.
Mahershala Ali is Boggs As President Coin’s military advisor, Boggs is tasked with looking out for Katniss’ safety. A tough-as-nails military commander, Boggs will be played by the equally stoic Mahershala Ali who had starring turns in shows like Alphas and Treme.
Patina Miller is Commander PaylorA military leader in the rebellion, Commander Paylor eventually plays a large part in the action in Mockingjay. So it was smart casting to conscript Broadway mainstay Patina Miller, who knows a little something about stage presence.
Elden Henson and Wes Chatham are Pollux and CastorBrothers and cameramen for Cressida, the major difference between the two is that Pollux is an Avox. The first film skipped over the concept of Avoxes: runaways captured by the Capitol who have had their tongues removed. Ouch!
Evan Ross is MessallaMessalla is Cressida’s assistant, and in Mockingjay he’ll be played by Diana Ross’ son.

Soul music legend Sam Moore has lost his latest appeal in his trademark battle against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein over 2008 film Soul Men. The former Sam & Dave star, who is widely known as 'The Legendary Soul Man', filed suit against executives at The Weinstein Co. and MGM amid allegations they based the plot of the movie on the story of his career with longtime singing partner Dave Prater, Jr.
A judge in Tennessee dismissed Moore's claim last year (12), ruling the picture, which featured Samuel L. Jackson and the late Bernie Mac as a bitter former duo forced to reunite, "contains no direct references to Sam & Dave or Sam Moore", but the 78 year old continued to fight the decision and took his case to the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
However, on Thursday (31Oct13), officials agreed to uphold the Tennessee ruling and dismissed the case.
Grammy Award winner Moore also claimed the film's title and soundtrack violated his 'Soul Man' trademark.
In her decision on Thursday, judge Deborah Cook stated, "Without a doubt the movie added significant expressive elements to any purported use of Moore's identity."
