Former Lostprophets rocker Lee Gaze has thanked fans for their support throughout frontman Ian Watkins' child sex drama, revealing he's relieved the case is almost over. Last Train Home singer Watkins had previously denied all charges, including two accusations of attempting to rape a baby under the age of 12 months, but he changed his plea to guilty as his trial kicked off at Cardiff Crown Court in Wales on Tuesday (26Nov13), and the singer will now be sentenced on 18 December (13).
Two female co-defendants, aged 21 and 24, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also altered their pleas and admitted to a number of offences.
Further details of Watkins' crimes emerged in court on Tuesday, with prosecutors revealing that the singer had filmed his sordid encounters, with one 17-minute video showing him performing a sex act on an 11-month-old baby - the child of one of his fellow defendants. Investigators also discovered that he had set the password for his laptop to 'if**kkids'.
Shortly after the hearing, guitarist Gaze took to his Twitter.com blog to express his relief that the ordeal was nearing an end, writing, "That was over quick. Thank f**k (sic)".
He then addressed the group's fans, adding: "Thanks for the kind words. At least there is closure now."
Gaze and the remaining members of Lostprophets, Mike Lewis, Stuart Richardson, Jamie Oliver and Luke Johnson, announced last month (Oct13) that they were splitting after 15 years together in light of Watkins' personal scandal.
Former child star Frankie Muniz has suffered another "mini stroke" almost exactly one year after he was hospitalised for a similar health crisis. The Malcolm in the Middle actor took to Twitter.com to alert fans and friends to his latest medical ordeal, although he did not share any details.
He wrote, "Almost a year to the day, I experienced another mini stroke. Hopefully that will be the last. Miserable."
Muniz, 27, had to be treated by doctors in Arizona on 30 November, 2012 after he started to lose sight in one eye and lose his ability to speak while riding his motorcycle in Phoenix.
Opening up about the symptoms on TV, he said, "Something wasn't right. I knew I did not feel right. I couldn't say words and I thought I was saying them and my fiancee (Elycia Marie) was looking at me like I was speaking a foreign language...
"I'm still trying to make sense of it... But I'm happy that I'm alive."
Teenage rapper Chief Keef has been slapped with another demand for child support after he was officially identified as the father of another baby. A lawyer for the virile hip-hop star, real name Keith Cozart, appeared in a Chicago, Illinois courtroom on Monday (25Nov13) after the results of a DNA test revealed he was the dad of Erica Early's 10-month-old child.
Bridgeview Judge Russell Hartigan subsequently ordered Keef to pay $2,500 (£1,670) a month for the next 10 months to Early, and hand over a lump sum of $25,000 (£16,670) by 31 December (13) to help the new mum support the kid.
In addition, Judge Hartigan ruled that Keef should provide medical and life insurance for the baby, and ordered the star to return to court for another hearing on 27 January (14).
However, Early may struggle to obtain the funds from the 18 year old - he already owes thousands in child support to another woman, who gave birth to his daughter. He managed to avoid jail in that case last week (ends22Nov13) by sending the unnamed mother a cheque for $11,000 (£7,300) to pay off a portion of the $20,900 (£13,900) he owes her in back payments.
The rapper was not present for Monday's hearing as he is currently serving 90 days in court-ordered rehab after testing positive for marijuana. He had been ordered to stay sober and drug-free after pleading guilty to a charge of speeding, related to an arrest in May (13).
Comedians Seth Rogen and James Franco have won the seal of approval from Kim Kardashian and her fiance Kanye West after they parodied the rapper's sexy video for new song Bound 2. The Pineapple Express co-stars mocked the engaged couple by recreating the raunchy promo scene for scene, with Franco miming along to West's verses as Rogen played his love interest, mimicking the reality TV beauty's role in the original clip.
For the hilarious video, which was uploaded to Rogen's Facebook.com page on Monday (25Nov13), the chubby funnyman bared his hairy back as he kissed and cuddled up to Franco while they rode a motorcycle through a desert landscape.
The clip caught the eye of Kardashian and she quickly reached out to the hirsute star to give him the thumbs up, writing on Twitter.com, "You nailed it!!! Sooo funny!", to which Rogen responded, "Thanks! Some of those positions were really uncomfortable. That s**t is harder than it looks."
Even famously short-tempered West enjoyed the spoof - Kardashian replied, "Kanye says what's up! He loves u (sic) guys! He laughed so hard at this."
The hip-hop star hit headines last month (Oct13) after verbally attacking U.S. TV presenter Jimmy Kimmel for poking fun at one of West's recent radio interviews by recreating the chat with child actors for a comedy skit. The pair later made amends after the host invited West onto his talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! to clear the air.
Singer Kelly Clarkson was forced to announce her pregnancy early after a bout morning sickness prompted her to cancel a promotional appearance. The Since U Been Gone hitmaker was hoping to keep the happy news to herself until closer to Christmas (13), but she was too ill to hide the secret.
She tells U.S. breakfast show Today, "I don't know why they call it morning sickness because it's like all day and all night.
"I was just dying to tell people, but we were trying to wait until the end of my first trimester... but everybody kept talking about it and I had to cancel something because I've been so ill. I didn't want people to think that I'm cancelling because I'm lazy or something. So, we just told people. But we had a really good reason."
Clarkson, who wed Brandon Blackstock last month (Oct13), announced she was expecting her first child earlier this month (Nov13), and although it is too early to tell, she is convinced she is having a girl.
The 31 year old already has a name picked out, but refuses to reveal it.
She continues, "We're not saying because I don't want someone to steal my baby's name."
Former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins has pleaded guilty to a number of sex offences, including two charges of attempting to rape a baby. The Welsh star appeared at Cardiff Crown Court in Wales on Tuesday (26Nov13) for the first day of his trial where he sensationally changed his previous not guilty pleas.
The 36 year old, who previously faced 24 charges, admitted a number of offences, including sexually assaulting a child aged under 13, conspiring to sexually assault a child under the age of 13, possessing an indecent photograph of a child and taking indecent photographs of children, as well as possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.
He also admitted two counts of attempting to rape a baby, according to Walesonline.co.uk.
Two female co-defendants, aged 21 and 24, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also changed their pleas and admitted a number of offences.
Watkins will be sentenced on 19 December (13).
The singer's group Lostprophets split a month before his trial was due to begin.
British actor Danny Dyer has ruled out having any more children following the birth of his son last month (Oct13). The Human Traffic star became a father for the third time when his partner Joanne Mas gave birth to a boy named Arty.
Dyer, who also has two daughters, Dani, 17, and Sunnie, six, reveals he is delighted to be a dad again, but he is adamant the couple won't be having any more kids.
He tells Britain's OK! magazine, "He's a beauty. He's everything I ever wanted... I was at the births of all of my children. But I tell you this - there will be no more. Three is enough."
The actor admits his little boy turned up at a difficult time, because he was born just two days before Dyer started a new job on British soap opera EastEnders.
Dyer adds, "It's been hard... I started at EastEnders two days after he was born so I've been around, but I'm not around... My missus (partner) Jo has been dealing with a lot of it and that's hard. Even though he's a good baby, he's still a newborn child, and it's a 24-hour watch."
Olympic gold medal-winning skier Bode Miller has been forced to hand his infant son over to his ex-girlfriend after a judge in New York awarded her temporary custody on Monday (25Nov13). Miller and his former partner Sara McKenna have been locked in a legal battle for custody of their child since before he was born in February (13), with the skier demanding the mother move to San Diego, California so he can be close to his son.
The nine-month-old boy had been living with Miller and his wife, Morgan Beck, since a judge awarded him temporary custody earlier this year (13), but he had to hand the youngster back to McKenna on Monday after a judge in New York gave her temporary custody of the boy until the next court hearing on 9 December (13).
Both parties are seeking a co-parenting arrangement.
The little boy is called Sam by his mother, but his father has named him Nate.
Thor star Chris Hemsworth and his family were rescued by coastguards after their catamaran ran aground close to the Canary Islands on Sunday (24Nov13), according to a U.K. report. The Australian actor was reportedly travelling with his pregnant wife, Elsa Pataky, and 18-month-old daughter India Rose when the vessel ran into trouble off the coast of Spanish territory La Gomera, off the west coast of Africa.
Two rescue boats and a helicopter were sent to help the eight passengers and take them to shore. No one was hurt in the incident.
A source tells Britain's Daily Mail, "Nobody was hurt but any kind of rescue at sea is a scary event, especially for a pregnant woman with a young child."
Hemsworth is in the region to film new Ron Howard movie Heart of the Sea, and his family flew out to join him on set.
The catamaran was reportedly hired by the film's production company to transport the group to Playa de Santiago.
Heart of the Sea tells the story of a whaling ship which sinks in the Pacific Ocean in 1820, which is said to have inspired the tale of Moby Dick.
Flo Rida has been hit with a lawsuit from a pregnant glamour model who claims the rapper is the father of her baby, according to a U.S. report. Natasha Georgette Williams, who has not yet given birth, has reportedly filed legal documents in Miami, Florida suing the Birthday hitmaker for child support payments.
According to editors at TMZ.com, Williams is also asking for good fortune child support, which lets parents in the state seek increased financial help from a person earning a high income.
