His bohemian attitude and exotic good looks helped Adrian Grenier stand out among his peers, even if his passivity in climbing the ladder of stardom may have limited his career trajectory. Starting out in indie fare like "Hurricane Streets" (1997) and "The Adventures of Sebastian Cole" (1998), Grenier romanced mainstream moviegoers - and Melissa Joan Hart - in the teen comedy "Drive Me Crazy" (1999), but had less success sweeping Anne Hathaway off her feet in the Meryl Streep blockbuster "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006). His best known role came in the form of Vincent Chase, the mellow movie star center of the universe on the critically acclaimed series "Entourage" (HBO, 2004-2011), anchoring the long-running ensemble comedy in typical flash-free fashion. While Grenier's un-Hollywood lack of outright ambition and under-the-radar project choices may have kept him from becoming a superstar, he seemed satisfied to live and work at his low-key professional level.

Bonus Trivia

"It's hard to battle the demons inside, telling me to get my piece of the pie and everything will be OK after that. I was relatively happy before Hollywood came knocking . . . They tend to have a way of drawing a glorious picture [of stardom] and I'm afraid of buying into that. And I'm afraid of losing my anonymity . . . [I'm shy] and don't know what to say. I don't want to get into a routine where people come and say, 'Oh, I know you.'"---Adrien Grenier on show business as quoted to Newsday, August 8, 1999.

"After doing 'The Adventures of Sebastian Cole', I know there are parts for me to do that are very enjoyable and movies that are enjoyable to work on. I needed this job and they gave it to me, but because of it, I am more selective."---Grenier on choosing roles as quoted in USA Today, August 26, 1999.

"I hated, hated, hated L.A. at first. The business is superficial, discouraging and disheartening. And now that I've experienced Hollywood and Sundance and hung out with Leonardo [DiCaprio], fame scares me more than it appeals to me. But I'm getting comfortable and I can see my resistance fading. It's sad. Next year I'll have my leather jacket and my cell phone. But even if they ask me to, I still won't shave."---Adrian Grenier to Interview, August 1999.

"I have a sizable head. All my features are big, big eyebrows, big nose, big lips, big old tender earlobes, big hair. I have a lot of presence." The actor, who's of European and Apache descent, calls himself a 'Native American white boy.'"---Grenier told USA Today, August 18, 2004.
