Biography

Aldo Silvani was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Silvani kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "Teresa" (1951), the Paul Muni crime flick "Imbarco a Mezzanotte" (1952) and the comedy "When in Rome" (1952) with Van Johnson. He also appeared in the Humphrey Bogart dramatic comedy "Beat the Devil" (1953). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the adventure "Valley of the Kings" (1954) with Robert Taylor, "La Strada" (1956) with Anthony Quinn and "Nights of Cabiria" (1957). In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in the dramatic adaptation "The Tempest" (1958) with Silvana Mangano, "Ben-Hur" (1959) and the Anne Heywood dramatic adaptation "Carthage in Flames" (1961). He also appeared in the drama "Sodoma e Gomorra" (1962) with Stewart Granger. Silvani was most recently credited in "Assault on a Queen" (1966) with Frank Sinatra. Silvani passed away in November 1964 at the age of 73.
