Alfonso Cuaron almost left Oscars afterparty without his awards

Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron almost misplaced the two Oscars he won at the Academy Awards after leaving them behind at an afterparty. The Mexican filmmaker was a double winner at the ceremony earlier this month (Mar14), claiming prizes for Best Director and Best Editing, but he came close to losing his statuettes just hours after his acceptance speeches as he headed for the exit at a Warner Bros. bash.
He tells Variety magazine, “People were taking pictures of the Oscars. I started leaving, and someone started running after me, saying, ‘Hey, your Oscars!’ Oh s**t, I forgot about them.”
The space disaster movie won a total of seven Oscars, the majority of which were for technical achievements.
