Alison Goldfrapp turns art curator for gallery series

Electro pop star Alison Goldfrapp is taking on the art world by curating a major new exhibition in at a top gallery in England. The Goldfrapp frontwoman will show fans how she is inspired through the arts by putting together a display at The Lowry arts centre in Manchester.
She will be the first star to take part in the gallery’s Performer as Curator exhibition series. Goldfrapp’s event will include work from artists including Marcel Dzama, John Stezaker, Leonora Carrington, Jan Pienkowski and Lotte Reiniger.
Michael Simpson, the gallery’s head of visual art, says, “Alison Goldfrapp was a natural first choice for us, given her remarkable synthesis of music and visual imagery. This is an exciting new venture for us and there are more collaborations in the pipeline.”
