Mississippi-born actress Allie Grant plays the character Isabelle Hodes on the popular Showtime series "Weeds. " Grant's character is a controversial one: she plays the out, 13-year-old lesbian daughter of Celia Hodes, a shallow, impulsive suburban mom who is constantly shaming Isabelle about her weight to the point of suggesting she acquire an eating disorder to slim down. Grant made her first major television appearance on an episode of the Disney Channel's tween sitcom "That's So Raven" in 2005. The next year, Grant played a guest role on four episodes of the similarly targeted show "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody." With the cult success of "Weeds" quickly building, and Grant's standout performance as the teenage voice of reason in a herd of immature adults, the film offers weren't far behind. Grant played a small role in the 2008 "Star Wars" geek send-up "Fanboys," and had a cameo in Floria Sigismondi's 2010 rock & roll biopic, "The Runaways."
