Amy Fisher’s lover to write tell-all book

Fisher became the most famous teenager in America in 1992 when at the age of 17, she was arrested on suspicion of shooting her lover’s wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco, in the head. She was subsequently charged with attempted murder, but pleaded guilty to assault in the second degree and served seven years in prison.

Joey Buttafuoco has now announced he is to lift the lid on the headline-grabbing scandal 20 years on in a new tell-all book, called Closure.

He tells TMZ.com, “Everyone thinks they know (the story) but they really don’t… It’s time for all of us to move on. My book is closure for everyone and our respected families. It’s time.”

Fisher, now 38, was released from prison in 1999 and went on to work as a journalist and write her own book, If I Knew Then…, published in 2004, before later launching a career in adult entertainment.

She appeared on reality TV show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew last year (11).
