Though Parks & Recreation signed off for the last time this year, actress Amy Poehler did not win an Emmy for an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. This was the sixth year in a row that Poehler was nominated for her role as Leslie Knope in the satire series. For the fourth year in a row, Julia Louis-Dreyfus won for her role on Veep.
Despite all of this, Poehler was still a good sport.

Still, here are 10 reasons why Poeher should have won, because Parks &Rec’s Leslie Knope was iconic.
1. She never put beauty before work.
2. She ALWAYS stood up for the ladies.
3. Leslie knew that waffles were the answer to all of life’s problems
4. She could hold a good grudge.
6. Her dating game was on fleek.
7. Her self-confidence was immeasurable.
8. Leslie understood the importance of a balanced diet…. and we will always stand behind her decision to avoid salad.
9. She knew that the library was for chumps.
10. And of course, because she was super tight with First Lady Michelle Obama.
