Amy Van Dyken in intensive care after quad bike crash

U.S. Olympic swimming hero Amy Van Dyken is receiving treatment in an intensive care unit after suffering horrific injuries in a quad bike crash. The six-times gold medal winner was riding an all-terrain vehicle in Show Low, Arizona on Friday (06Jun14) when the horror occurred.
Van Dyken, 41, was airlifted to a hospital in nearby Scottsdale and was still in an intensive care unit on Monday (09Jun14), according to TMZ.com.
She won four gold medals at the 1996 Olympics, making her the most successful athlete of that year’s Games, and won two more at the 2000 Olympics.
No further details of Van Dyken’s condition were available as WENN went to press.
