‘Anchorman’ Star Fred Willard Arrested for Lewd Conduct: New Details

Fred WillardFred Willard, an actor best known for his roles in comedies such as Anchorman and Best in Show, was arrested Wednesday night in Hollywood for engaging in lewd conduct at an adult movie theater, the Hollywood Police Department tells Hollywood.com. After being brought to the Hollywood Police Department for booking, Willard was quickly released. 

“On July 18 at about 8:50 PM, uniformed officers from the LAPD Hollywood Vice Unit were conducting an inspection at an adult theater located at the 5400 block of Santa Monica Blvd,” Hollywood Police Department Sergeant Mark Ro tells us in a statement. “The officers observed Willard inside the location engaged in a lewd act. Willard was arrested for 647A of the penal code, lewd conduct, and transported to Hollywood station. Willard was booked for lewd conduct and later released on his own recognizance.” 
Willard’s rep has not yet responded to Hollywood.com’s request for comment.
