Andrea Barber was born on July 3, 1976, in Los Angeles, CA. Barber took to acting almost immediately, appearing at age nine on episodes of "Fantasy Island" (ABC 1977-1984) and "Days of Our Lives" (NBC 1965-). The young Barber continued to make one-off appearances on popular TV shows, including "St. Elsewhere" (NBC 1982-88) and the 1980s revival of "The Twilight Zone" (CBS 1985-89), but truly found stardom upon joining the supporting cast of the family sitcom "Full House" (ABC 1987-1995). Beginning with the third episode of the series, Barber played Kimmy Gibbler, the quirky and imposing family friend of the spotlighted Tanner household. After graduating from costarring billing in the program's second season, Barber became featured nearly as prominently as the central family members, remaining a key fixture of the series' dynamic throughout its run. Following the cancelation of "Full House," Barber refrained from acting professionally for more than two decades. During this period, she achieved an English degree from Whittier College and a Master's degree in Women's Studies from University of York, England. She returned to the screen to revive the character Kimmy Gibbler in the "Full House" sequel series, "Fuller House" (Netflix 2016-). Gibbler was one of several original "Full House" cast members to star on the series.
