Biography

Andreas Schmidt is a veteran German actor who has more than 100 screen credits to his name. Working primarily in his homeland, Schmidt appeared in a number of films during the late 1980s, most notably the Dutch/American drama "The Rose Garden," before taking on a steady stream of German television productions. In 2002, he starred in the feature drama "Pigs Will Fly" and had a prominent supporting role in the bittersweet 2005 movie "Summer in Berlin." Continuing to juggle TV and film projects, Schmidt was featured in the Oscar-winning World War II-era drama "The Counterfeiters," a movie that gave him considerably wider international exposure.
