Andrew Stockdale cancels Australian solo tour

Rocker Andrew Stockdale has cancelled a solo tour of his native Australia just a day before his first scheduled performance. The former Wolfmother frontman was due to perform a number of concerts Down Under, starting with a show in Newcastle, New South Wales on Thursday (06Jun13), but has decided to axe 12 shows due to scheduling clashes.
However, Stockdale will still perform at the launch of his first solo album Keep Moving at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Friday (07Jun13) and future tour dates for Europe and the U.S. remain unchanged.
A statement released by Stockdale’s tour promoters reads, “The current dates for the Andrew Stockdale Australian tour have been postponed due to international commitments based with the release of the new album.
“Although we have tried to make the dates work, the schedules have unfortunately clashed for June. We apologise to all fans however the good news is that the tour is being re-scheduled right now and we will announce revised dates shortly.”
Stockdale officially dissolved Wolfmother in April (13) so he could concentrate on launching himself as a solo artist.
