Angie Martinez's acting talents were showcased on the big screen many times throughout the course of her career. Martinez's early acting career mostly consisted of roles in various films, such as the Tyra Banks comedy "A Woman Like That" (1997) and the comedy "Personals" (1999) with Malik Yoba. Martinez acted in many roles at this time and created music for the action film "Nothing to Lose" (1997) with Martin Lawrence. She kept working in film throughout the nineties and the early 2000s, starring in "The 24 Hour Woman" (1999) with Rosie Perez and "Brown Sugar" (2002). A regular on the awards show circuit, she made an appearance on "7th Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards" (2001-02). She also appeared in the TV special "MTV Cribs Presents: How to Live Large" (2000-01). Martinez had a number of different projects under her belt in the early 2000s and the 2010s, including "Chappelle's Show" (Comedy Central, 2002-06), "State Property 2" (2005) and "Love & Hip Hop" (VH1, 2010-15). Martinez most recently appeared in "This is HOT 97" (2013-14).
