Biography

Ann Bell worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Bell had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as the Oskar Werner adaptation "Fahrenheit 451" (1966), the drama "To Sir With Love" (1967) with Sidney Poitier and the dramatic adaptation "The Reckoning" (1969) with Nicol Williamson. She also appeared in "The Statue" (1970) and the Gavin Richards experimental "Crystal Gazing" (1982). She also appeared in the TV movie "Spectre" (1976-77). Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Tumbledown" (1989-1990). Following that project, Bell worked on mostly television programs, including "Tenko" (1984-85) and "Agatha Christie's Poirot" (1988-2013). As her career progressed, she appeared in "Champions" (1983) with John Hurt. She appeared in a number of television specials, including "Christabel" (1988-89) and "Second Time Around" (1992-93). She also played parts in television during these years, including roles in "Tenko" (1984-85) and "Agatha Christie's Poirot" (1988-2013). She also was featured in the TV movie "Anna Lee: The Cook's Tale" (1993-94). She also appeared in the Sean Bean dramatic sports film "When Saturday Comes" (1997) and the dramatic adaptation "The Land Girls" (1998) with Catherine McCormack. Most recently, Bell appeared in "The Forsyte Saga" (2002-04).
