Biography

French actress Anne Consigny was born on May 25, 1963 in the town of Alencon, in the Normandy region of France. Consigny's father was the head of the cabinet of French Prime Minister Maurice Couve de Murville during the 1960s. Consigny made her screen debut in the film "Yume, yume no ato"(1981). Consigny landed her first leading role in Gabriel Benattar's "Alice" (1988). That year she also gave birth to her first child, Vladimir Consigny, with French film director Benoît Jacquot. In addition to a steadily successful career in her native France, Consigny has appeared in several movies that found international acclaim including the searing drama "The Diving Bell And the Butterfly" (2007), and the two-part crime drama "Mesrine: Killer Instinct" (2008) and "Mesrine: Public Enemy #1" (2008). Although she occasionally worked in television throughout her career, Consigny's TV breakthrough came with her starring role in "The Returned" (Canal+ 2012), a French supernatural drama in which dead people inexplicably return to their homes. The show's international success included both an American run of the original series and an American remake on the A&E network.
