Anne Rice developing The Vampire Chronicles TV show

Author Anne Rice is developing a TV project based on her popular book series The Vampire Chronicles.
The writer of the novels Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat is teaming up with her son Christopher for the series.
He is working on “a detailed outline for an open ended series, faithfully presenting (vampire) Lestat’s story as it is told in the books”.
Rice’s works have spawned movies including Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles and Queen of the Damned, and she wants her TV adaptation to reflect the success of the films.
“The theatrical rights to The Vampire Chronicles are once again in my hands, free and clear!,” she wrote on Facebook over the weekend (26-27Nov16). “I could not be more excited about this!
“A television series of the highest quality is now my dream for Lestat, Louis, Armand, Marius and the entire tribe. In this, the new Golden Age of television, such a series is THE way to let the entire story of the vampires unfold…”
