Biography

Anthony Warde worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Early on in his acting career, Warde landed roles in various films, including "The Affairs of Annabel" (1938), the mystery "Mr. Moto Takes a Vacation" (1939) with Peter Lorre and "Dick Tracy Vs. Crime, Inc." (1941). He also appeared in the Gene Autry musical "Ridin' on a Rainbow" (1941), "King of the Mounties" (1942) and "The Man With Two Lives" (1942). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties, appearing in "The Chinese Cat" (1944), "Mystery of the River Boat" (1944) and "The Monster and the Ape" (1945). He also appeared in the action movie "D-Day on Mars" (1945) with Dennis Moore. Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in "The Black Widow" (1947), "Bells of San Fernando" (1947) and "High Tide" (1947) with Lee Tracy. He also appeared in "Dangers of the Canadian Mounted" (1948) and "The Girl Who Had Everything" (1953). Warde also acted in "Brenda Starr, Reporter."
