Biography

A precociously gifted rising star, Antoine L'Écuyer displayed a talent and screen presence well beyond his years. Born in 1997, Antoine L'Écuyer made his screen debut at 10 years of age in the pilot of the TV series adaptation of the immensely popular film franchise "Les Boys" (Radio-Canada, 2007-2012). He dazzled critics and audiences when he nailed the layered, demanding lead role in the film "C'est pas moi, je le jure!" ("It's Not Me, I Swear!") (2008) as Léon Doré, an imaginative, restless boy who, in the summer of 1968, acts out when his mother abandons their family. Driven by equal parts rage, curiosity and a sense of the dramatic well beyond his years, L'Écuyer's Léon proved an onscreen child character unlike any other: eloquent, drawn to the darkness in life, yet ultimately hopeful and shockingly wise. For such an auspicious performance, he won the Best Actor Award from the Atlantic Film Festival. L'Écuyer displayed his charm in an episode of the talk show "Tout le monde en parle" (Radio-Canada, 2004- ) and notched another moving performance as a terminally ill young hockey fan in the drama "Pour toujours, les Canadiens!" (2009). Continuing to deepen and expand his talent as he grew, the actor also appeared on the sci-fi drama "Les rescapés" ("The Survivors") (Radio-Canada, 2010-12) as a member of a family who mysteriously time travels into the future.
