If you haven’t already registered for free tickets to Michael Jackson‘s memorial service — it’s too late. 1.6 million other people beat you to it.
Of the millions of registrants that are hoping to attend the service — to be held at L.A.’s Staples Center on Tuesday, July 7 at 10AM PST — a random drawing of 8,750 registrants will be made. Each “winner” will receive two tickets to either the service taking place inside Staples Center or entry into the Nokia Theatre LA LIVE simulcast.
Selected fans will receive an e-mail on Sunday, July 5 after 11AM PST with an exclusive and unique code, plus instructions on how to obtain their two free tickets on Monday, July 6 at an off-site location (NOT the Staples Center or Nokia Theatre).
These fans will receive two tickets and two wristbands — one of which will be affixed directly to the fan’s wrist. The day of the service, each fan must bring both a valid ticket and a wristband. No mutilated wristbands allowed. This detailed procedure was put in place to hopefully avoid the reselling of tickets.
But before any fan receives an e-mail with news of free tickets, a “scrubbing” process is taking place, which will eliminate duplicates and all entries suspected to have been made by auto-entry systems.
Don’t forget to check your e-mail after 11AM PST today …
