Biography

Canadian actor Avan Jogia, who is of Indian, Welsh, English, and Irish descent, got his show-business break as a teenager in "A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story". In the 2006 TV movie, Jogia played the younger brother of the main character, a role that led to other TV work, including a supporting part in the musical "Spectacular!" in 2009. He also appeared in several episodes of the immigrant-themed sitcom "Aliens in America" in '09 and the sci-fi drama "Caprica". For most viewers, however, his claim to fame is his co-staring role in "Victorious", the show about a performing arts high school in Hollywood.
