As the new year approaches, maybe you’re thinking 2016 was kind of a drag. Combat the sorrow by indulging in 12 darling monikers coined by Hollywood’s newest additions.
1. Luna Simone
This stellar name, belonging to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend‘s bundle of joy, is ridiculously cute. Though A-listers often go for long and complex when naming their children, these celebs went for short and sweet! The result? Too precious.
2. Freddie Reign
One Direction‘s Louis Tomlinson welcomed little Freddie to the world this year. While “Freddie” is hardly a new name, we think it flows flawlessly with “Reign”. Plus, it totally sounds like a rockstar-in-the-making.
3. Remington Alexander
Earlier this year, Kelly Clarkson brought home her second child with husband, Brandon Blackstock. The singer’s little guy boasts a totally cute and trendy name that’s even more adorable when paired with big sister, River Rose.
4. Dream Renée
The world awaited the arrival of Robert Kardashian and Blac Chyna‘s baby girl. With cousins North, Saint, Mason, Penelope and Reign (and big brother King Cairo), we could only hope that the newest Kardashian would be called something interesting — and we think “Dream” is completely enchanting.
5. Amada Lee
Is there anything lovelier than this name picked by parents Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling. “Amada” isn’t too popular, but it’s certainly something we can see climbing the baby-name charts in years to come. Combined with cute middle name, “Lee”, it’s timeless.
6. Dusty Rose
Though we weren’t sure what to think at first, we’ve concluded this name is the perfect fit for the beautiful daughter of Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo. Why? It’s equal parts tough and sweet. Plus, Dusty will likely never share a name with her classmates.
7. York Banks
At the beginning of 2016, Tyra Banks welcomed baby York into the family along with boyfriend, Erik Asla. With a full name like “York Banks Asla”, we think this boy couldn’t be more stylish already — parents aside, of course!
8. Journey River
Looks like Megan Fox is completely outnumbered! She and husband Brian Austin Green have three sons, one of which was born back in August. Their youngest’s peaceful-sounding name certainly has that ‘Hollywood baby name’ feel — and we dig it!
9. Dimitri Portwood
Aww, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have been joined by baby #2! We adored daughter Wyatt Isabelle’s name, and now the newest addition, Dimitri Portwood, also bares a distinctive moniker. This Bustle article speculates that the name was chosen based on Kunis and Kutcher’s heritage. Either way, “Dimitri” is pretty darn adorable.
10. Caleb Kelechi
Though Kerry Washington keeps her family out of the limelight, she did confirm that she and husband Nnamdi Asomugha gave birth to their second child earlier this year. Washington gave her tyke a strong and handsome first name — followed by a middle name that’s beautiful and unique. This one just has a ring to it!
11. Rocco Robin
In February, celeb couple Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne made room for their first child together. We think “Rocco” is a precious name on its own, but “Rocco Robin” is ten times more darling.
12. Boomer Robert
Olympic superstar Michael Phelps welcomed his firstborn son in May of this year. Based on photos that the gold medalist proudly posts, Boomer is just as cute as his name! We wouldn’t be surprised if the littlest Phelps started a trend.
