‘Bachelor’ Star Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney Are Expecting a Baby

Jason Mesnick Baby

Famous Bachelor father Jason Mesnick is going to be a father once again. Mesnick and his wife Molly Malaney, who he met while starring as ABC’s The Bachelor, are expecting their first baby together, People reports. “Our family is getting a little bit bigger!” Molly, 28, says. “I’m into my second trimester and I feel really good.”

While this is Mesnick and Malaney’s first child together, Mesnick, 36, has one son, Ty, 7, from a previous marriage. “He’s been so excited to be a big brother,” Mesnick says, adding that he and Melaney broke the news to Ty by playing a game of hangman. “The answer was ‘Tyler is going to be a big brother,’” Jason explained. “He’s been asking me for years. He’s always wanted to be a big brother. So we played the game and he looked at Molly and I and said, ‘Really?’ Molly made him a T-shirt that says ‘Big Brother’ on it and he’s really proud. He wore it to school.”

Mesnick also confirmed the news on Twitter. “Yes its true! WAHOOOOOOO!!! Molly is going to be a MOM and TY a BIG BROTHER! YIPPEEEEEEE!” he tweeted Thursday. “I am trying to keep up with the tweets! But thank you all for the well wishes. We are beyond excited! Thank you thank you!! WAHOOOOOOOOO!”

The enthusiasm is a far cry from Mesnick and Malaney’s rocky start. On season 13 of The Bachelor, Mesnick left the season engaged to Melissa Rycroft. But after the finale, Mesnick had a change of heart — and during a special, he broke it off with Rycroft and asked Malaney for a second chance. Mesnick and Malaney then tied the knot during on Feb. 27, 2010, in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. (Following in Bachelorette star Trista Rhen married Ryan Sutter’s footsteps, their vows were broadcast during a two-hour special titled The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding, on March 8, 2010.

Even though Mesnick and Malaney had a rough start, this exciting news proves that Bachelor fairytale endings can come true… on occasion. Okay, on rare occasions. Malaney is due in March 2013.
