Biography

Actor Ben Levin made an initial splash as a small screen star oin the final season of the long-running daytime soap opera "As the World Turns" (CBS, 1956-2010) before embarking on a steady stream of guest and supporting turns in independent and mainstream features. A graduate of the Sanford Meisner Studio, Levin worked largely in short and low-budget features before earning his big break on the soap. The prominence of his storyline and the interest of fans allowed Levin to work steadily after the show came to a close in 2010, though much of these assignments were lower-profile efforts like "The Big C" (Showtime, 2010-2013) and the less-than-successful comedy "Admission" (2013). Though still in search of his breakout project, Ben Levin's talent showed that he possessed the potential for stardom.

Born December 5, 1987 in New York City, New York, Ben Levin made his screen debut as a teenager in the coming-of-age drama "The Emperor's Club" in 2002. He then pursued academic and professional studies at both New York University and The Sanford Meisner Studio before resuming his acting career with appearances in several short films and independent features. In 2009, he returned to the mainstream as the surly teen turned heartthrob Gabriel Caras on the final season of "As the World Turns." Following the series' demise, Levin returned to guest work in features and television, including supporting turns on "The Big C" and the independent feature "30 Beats" (2012), which cast him opposite Condola Rashad as longtime friends whose relationship is complicated by physical intimacy. The following year, he landed a supporting role in Paul Weitz's comedy "Admission" (2013), with Tina Fey and Paul Rudd.

Bonus Trivia

.

The Gabriel Caras plot was the last "major" storyline on "As the World Turns" (CBS, 1956-2010), and, as many critics noted, hearkened back to many of the former "prodigal sons/daughters" story arcs of the past. As with those plot lines, fans initially decried the arrival of Levin's Caras for violating the show's history
