Benny Benassi suffers ‘serious injury’ in skiing accident

Italian DJ Benny Benassi has cancelled several U.S. tour dates after suffering a serious injury in a skiing accident.
A statement posted by the Satisfaction musician’s management on his social media pages did not specify the exact nature of the injury or where it had occurred, only indicating that it was “serious”.
“We’re very sorry to announce that Benny Benassi has sustained a serious injury due to a skiing accident and unfortunately will not be able to perform the forthcoming shows,” the statement read.
Benassi was scheduled to play six shows across the U.S. before 4 February (17).
The message told ticketholders they could contact the concerts’ promoters to obtain refunds.
No further details were given about the length of Benassi’s recovery period, but he has a month’s break from performing before he’s scheduled to perform in Helsinki, Finland on 4 March (17).
The 49-year-old is not the only music star to suffer on the slopes this January (17), as KISS rocker Paul Stanley has scrapped four concerts with his side project California Soul Station due to sustaining a concussion while skiing.
Madam Secretary actor Tim Daly also broke both his legs while skiing during a visit to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
