French filmmaker Benoit Jacquot is developing a film about 18th century Italian author and playboy Giacomo Casanova.
French actor Vincent Lindon, who worked with Jacquot on 2015’s Diary of a Chambermaid, has been cast as Casanova.
The script was written by Jacquot, Chantal Thomas and Jerome Beaujour and the movie will centre on Casanova’s life in London and his passion for a 25-year-old woman, who was the first and only one of his love interests to turn him down.
Mr. Casanova will begin filming in January, 2018, according to Variety.com.
