The former Blossom star lives with her husband, Mike, and their sons, Miles and Fred, in a one-bedroom home without a playroom as the couple wants to lead a simple life without excess material possessions.
Bialik tells NewsOK.com, “Our society’s obsession with consumerism, especially in the realm of baby things, baby soaps and baby products… That’s something that my husband and I, partly for frugality and partly for environmental reasons, have really rejected.
“We figure everything out without spending a lot of money on that kind of stuff.”
The Big Bang Theory star, a spokesperson for the Holistic Moms Network, has written about her unconventional parenting techniques in her book Beyond The Sling, which promotes natural birth, sleeping alongside children and gentle discipline.
She adds, “When we treat our children kindly and expect love and give love, we hopefully are raising children that then expect that and give that to the world around them. It is very consistent with a ‘green’ style of parenting.”
