Bill Lawrence safe after minor plane crash

TV mogul Bill Lawrence has thanked emergency services in New York after he and his daughter walked away from a minor plane crash on Friday (21Jul17).
Lawrence, the creator of hit comedies Scrubs and Spin City, and his child were among a group of seven passengers on a seaplane en route to the Hamptons when the pilot encountered problems shortly after take off from Manhattan.
The aircraft started to go down, prompting him to make an emergency landing on the East River.
No one was hurt in the drama, and the passengers, who were all wearing life vests, were rescued by officials from the New York Police Department Harbor Unit, reports NBC 4 New York.
Lawrence, 48, later took to social media to share a news article about the incident, writing, “Wild day. Daughter and all ok. First plane crash. Thanks NYC emergency folks.”
He also managed to laugh off the close call by posting a picture of himself pointing to the partly-submerged wreckage in the background.
He captioned it, “Our sea plane. Going to go drink tequila continuously. #Lucky”.
