Bill Murray accused of assaulting Carly Simon’s brother

Actor Bill Murray has been accused of attacking Carly Simon’s photographer brother.
Peter Simon claims the Ghostbusters star took issue with him for apparently snapping a photo while he was watching a band perform at Lola’s restaurant in Massachusetts.
Simon insists he was invited to the venue by the musicians as part of an assignment for The Martha’s Vineyard Times, and wasn’t trying to sneak a picture of Murray, but the acting veteran allegedly lost his temper, threw the cameraman against a door and poured a glass of water over him.
The 67 year old is also accused of threatening and hurling expletives at Simon, who initially didn’t recognise the star.
“He looked like he was ready to strangle me…,” Simon told The Boston Globe. “He treated me like the scum of the earth.”
Authorities were called to the venue, where, according to a police report, a “visibly upset” Murray claimed Simon had been harassing him by trying to take his picture – allegations the photographer denies.
Simon was not injured and no charges were filed over the restaurant clash, although the photographer has not ruled out pursuing legal action in the near future.
Representatives for Murray have yet to comment on the report.
