Billboard Beats: ‘Harlem Shake’ Is No. 1 for 4 Weeks in a Row

Baauer

At this point, if you haven’t been a part of a “Harlem Shake” YouTube video then you know someone who has. Maybe the video was filmed at your college fraternity house. Maybe your roommates decided it would be a cool idea to thrust one upon your household, twitching and throwing their bodies in inexplicable directions. Maybe you have memories — or flashbacks — of hiding in the corner at a party so as to avoid being seen on camera when one was filmed.

Whatever the case, it’s obvious the “Harlem Shake” is insanely popular and everyone, and I do mean everyone, is overly obsessed with Baauer‘s dance tune. It’s so hot that the song has topped Billboard.com’s Hot 100 chart yet again this week, making it the fourth consecutive week that the single has held onto No. 1.
