Billie Eilish lends track to powerful cyberbullying video

Billie Eilish is helping to shed light on the ills of cyberbullying by lending her track to an impactful new campaign.

The 17-year-old singer has permitted young director Charlotte McLaverty to use her track When The Party’s Over free of charge in a new Australian video focusing on the cruelties young online users face.

“We played her (Billie) songs on set to get the actors in character and everyone was like, ‘Oh my gosh, can we use her song?,” McLaverty says. “So we went to her, and she was like, ‘Sure!'”

She added, “She’s (Billie) all about that type of stuff, which is amazing.”

The powerful promo, titled Are Your Words Doing Damage?, was created to draw attention to the charity Dolly’s Dream, which was set up in memory of Amy ‘Dolly’ Everett, who took her life earlier this year (2019), at the age of 14, after enduring a barrage of hurtful comments on the web.
