Biography

Billy Porter was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Porter kickstarted his acting career appearing on various dramas, including "Another World" (NBC, 1963-1999) and "Law & Order" (NBC, 1990-2010). He had an early role on the television special "A Rosie Christmas" (ABC, 1999-2000). He also acted in various movies at the time, including "Twisted" (1997) with William Hickey. He also landed a role in the miniseries "Shake, Rattle & Roll" (1999-2000). Following that project, he acted on the silver screen, including roles in "Colorz of Rage" (1999) with Nicki Richards, "Intern" (2000) and the Zach Braff comedic drama "The Broken Hearts Club" (2000). He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (NBC, 1999-). Porter continued to exercise his talent in the early 2000s, taking on a mix of projects like "InStyle Celebrity Weddings" (ABC, 2004-05), "So You Think You Can Dance" (Fox, 2004-2015) and "Indie Sex: Extremes" (IFC, 2006-07).
