Biography

Bob Nolan worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. In his early acting career, Nolan appeared in such films as "The Old Homestead" (1935) with Mary Carlisle, the Roy Rogers western "Sunset Serenade" (1942) and "Heart of the Golden West" (1942). He also appeared in "Ridin' Down the Canyon" (1942) and the Roy Rogers western "Silver Spurs" (1943). In addition to his acting, Nolan also contributed music to the musical "Sunset on the Desert" (1942) with Roy Rogers. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties, appearing in the western "Utah" (1945) with Roy Rogers, "Don't Fence Me In" (1945) and the Roy Rogers musical "My Pal Trigger" (1946). He also appeared in "Roll on Texas Moon" (1946) with Roy Rogers. Nolan continued to exercise his talent in the eighties, taking on a mix of projects like "Seems Like Old Times" with Goldie Hawn (1980), "Tai-Pan" (1986) starring Bryan Brown, "Angel Heart" (1987), "Russkies" (1987) starring Whip Hubley and the Eddie Murphy and Eddie Murphy smash hit "Coming to America" (1988). Most recently, Nolan provided music for the dramatic fantasy "Lost River" (2015) with Christina Hendricks.
