Bob Wills’ former home marked for destruction

The former California home of late country star Bob Wills has been marked for destruction by developers. The King of Western Swing purchased the property, known as the Triple B Ranch, in Northeast Fresno in 1945 and he lived out much of his life in the home, where his daughter Carolyn was born.
Bosses at the Fresno Historical Preservation Commission (FHPC) recently ruled to protect the now-decaying building, however last week (23May13) chiefs at Granville Homes obtained a city demolition permit to convert the land into a housing complex.
And the news has residents outraged – FHPC chairman Don Simmons tells ABC News, “The Historic Preservation Commission voted unanimously that this is historic, no matter what the (city) council says or Granville says, it’s historic, it has a great story too… Developers shouldn’t have this much sway over the preservation community.”
Wills died in 1975.
