Bonnie Johnson's talent as an actress was best showcased by her dramatic film work. Johnson's early roles were in dramas like "Manny and Lo" (1996) with Mary Kay Place, the Robin Williams hit "Patch Adams" (1998) and "Rules of Engagement" (2000) starring Tommy Lee Jones. She additionally landed roles in the TV movies "The Three Lives of Karen" (USA, 1996-97) and "Above Suspicion" (USA, 2000-01). She kept working in film throughout the early 2000s, starring in "Big Fish" (2003) with Ewan McGregor, the dramatic adaptation "The Punisher" (2004) with Thomas Jane and "A Dance for Bethany" (2007) with William "Billy" McNamara. She also appeared in the Steve Carell smash hit comedy sequel "Evan Almighty" (2007).
