Actor Boris McGiver is the son of noted character actor John McGiver. Boris studied a wide range of subjects, including music, before deciding to follow in his father's footsteps. He had a supporting role in the gritty crime drama "Little Odessa" in 1994 and a small part in the indie hit "Jesus' Son" in '99. He had a comedic supporting role in the action comedy "Taxi" in 2004 and appeared in the offbeat biography "Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus". He has also made his mark on TV in supporting roles, most significantly as Lt. Charles Marimow on the critically-acclaimed crime drama "The Wire".
