Britney Spears and Wil.i.am 'Scream and Shout' on New Track — LISTEN (2012/11/19)- Tickets to Movies in Theaters, Broadway Shows, London Theatre & More

It’s like 2007 all over again, you guys! And for that reason, Britney Spears just wants to scream and shout. So she’s brought everyone’s favorite space-songwriter, Will.i.am to recreate the feeling—this time for the cleeeerb (that’s cool kid for “club”).

With a reference to her 2007 song “Gimmie More” (‘It’s Britney, b***h!’) featured towards the end, this song hits every repetitive trope these two seem to work so hard. For Britney, it’s just being Britney (sort of like how just bein’ Miley works for Ms. Cyrus). For Will.i.am, it’s partying, hands in the air, having a good time in the club. (Actually, Britney used to be quite the fan of hittin’ up the cleeeerbs, too!)

But that’s not all: Will.i.am’s continually genius lyrical work is at play once again. Highlights include: “When you hear this in the club, you’re gonna turn this sh– up/ When we up in the club all eyes on us/ See the boys in the club, they watchin’ us/ Everybody in the club, all eyes on us” and “I wanna scream and shout and let it all out/ And scream and shout and let it out/ We sayin’, ‘Ohh, wee ohh, wee oh wee oh’/ We sayin’, ‘Ohh, wee ohh, wee oh wee oh’/ I wanna scream and shout and let it all out/ And scream and shout and let it out/ We sayin’, ‘Ohh, wee ohh, wee oh wee oh’.” Wow, that’s deep, you guys.

Now, if that sort of brilliant, timely, touching, poignant and deep lyrical work isn’t enough to make you immediately hit play on this track, I don’t know what will.
