Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung stayed in separate hotel rooms for new movie

Newlyweds Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung booked themselves into separate hotel rooms while filming their new movie in a bid to kill their chemistry onscreen.
The actors were engaged when they signed up to star in romantic comedy Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong, about a U.S. expatriate who falls in love with a Chinese-American woman, but they couldn’t show their true feelings for each other on the screen.
Bryan admits they were drawn to the project, written and directed by Emily Ting, because the film’s plot mirrored their own love story.
“We connected to the story because there were a lot of similarities to our own relationship,” he explained on U.S. breakfast show Today. “How we met, the timing wasn’t right, and then we kind of waited and we made the time right.”
However, the stars, who wed in October (15), realised they needed to take some time apart during the month-long shoot to help with the gradual development of their characters’ attraction onscreen.
Bryan continued, “It was difficult because we needed to take away our chemistry a little bit and so Jamie suggested we get two separate hotel rooms while we were there.”
And his new wife confesses she enjoyed the little ‘me’ time at the end of a long day.
“I mean, when you work with someone for 12 hours and then you go home, it’s like you kind of appreciate the alone time,” she laughed.
Bryan, who picked up a new skill after having to learn Cantonese for his role, admits filming in Hong Kong was a lot of fun because the couple got to explore the city together for the first time – and the actors hope fans will be inspired to travel there too after watching the film.
“It was cool,” he recalled. “I’ve never been there before either, so we got there… 10 days before shooting, I had to learn Cantonese. We had to walk through all the locations, and we kind of got a feel for it that way.
“It’s a beautiful city that I don’t think western audiences have really been exposed to outside of action films… This (film) is really a love letter to that city.”
