Biography

Bryan Poyser often found humor in the unlikeliest of places and situations, especially when it came to his films. He began his career writing and directing short films such as "Pleasureland" (2001) and "Grammy's" (2007), slice-of-life narratives with offbeat, dark and satirical undertones. Poyser leapt to writing and directing full-length features with "Dear Pillow" (2004), an unadulterated look at a young man's yearning for companionship and sexual awakening set in the confines of suburbia. But it was "Lovers of Hate" (2010), a biting and twisted comedy about sibling rivalry, obsession and deceit all rolled into one painful love triangle that planted Poyser on the map and established him as a true maverick of indie films.
