‘Bully’ Adds Bieber Power

Justin BieberAnother day, another story about the documentary Bully — but the latest news should actually have a positive impact and certainly further raise its profile: Pop star Justin Bieber has given the controversial film a ringing endorsement and allowed his song “Born to Be Somebody” to be used in a new trailer (below).

In a statement encouraging his fans to see the film, the 18-year-old singer/actor says: “My fans are always for supporting a great cause. It’s one of the things I’m most proud of as an entertainer. I hope they see Bully with their friends and help start the conversation so we can end bullying.”

The saga between Bully and the Motion Picture Association of America’s ratings board has been well documented: The film, which shines a light on on bullying in schools across America, was originally slapped with an R rating, which prompted outcry from moviegoers and The Weinstein Company (the film’s studio) because such a rating would’ve essentially prevented the target audience from seeing it. Just last week, the rating was lowered to PG-13. Check out the Bieber-fied trailer, below!
