Burgess Abernethy and Laura Mitchell join royal romance movie

Actors Burgess Abernethy and Laura Mitchell have been cast to play Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge in a U.S. TV movie about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s romance.
The actors will star opposite Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser, who will play Markle and the British royal, respectively, in the Lifetime network’s Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story.
Actors Preston Karwat and Briella Wintraub will also appear in the film as the royal couple’s children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, while Bonnie Soper will portray the princes’ late mother Diana and Maggie Sullivan will play their grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
The film, which will begin with the couple’s first date in May, 2016 – set up by a mutual friend, will be directed by The Royals’ Menhaj Huda. It will air this spring (18), before Harry and Meghan tie the knot at Windsor Castle, England, on 19 May (18).
It’s not the first real-life royal romance to get the small screen treatment at Lifetime – Prince William and his wife were also the subjects of a 2011 film, called William & Kate: The Movie, starring Grey’s Anatomy’s Camilla Luddington and Nico Evers-Swindell.
