Burt Bacharach and Charli XCX to be honoured at cancer charity event

Singer/songwriter BURT BACHARACH and British pop star CHARLI XCX have been named the honourees at the upcoming Songs of Hope Benefit in support of cancer and HIV/AIDS research organisation City of Hope.
Bacharach will be presented with the Clive Davis Legend in Songwriting Award by music executive Davis himself, in recognition of his influential artistry over the past six decades.
Meanwhile, Boom Clap singer Charli XCX will be honoured with the Martin Bandier Vanguard Award for her progress as an upcoming artist, and Frozen film composer will receive the Electronic Arts Composer Award.
The 11th annual benefit will be held at the Los Angeles home of music producer Ron Fair, with Jimmy Jam hosting the event on 11 June (15).
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards City of Hope, a global leader in the fight against cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS.
