‘Star Wars’ Star Carrie Fisher Hospitalized After Cruise Ship Meltdown

Carrie Fisher hospitalized for bipolar disorder after cruise ship meltdown.

Star Wars leading lady Carrie Fisher has been hospitalized following a very bizarre public appearance in which she was seen “slurring a couple off-key songs,” according to TMZ. But that’s not even the weirdest part — this all happened on a cruise ship (no, not that ship) where Fisher was the surprise celebrity guest, and she spent part of her performance cleaning up after her dog did its business on stage.

Fisher, who has struggled with addiction in the past, was not under the influence at the time of the meltdown, her rep tells TMZ. In fact, the strange incident was a result of Fisher’s bipolar disorder, which she has battled very openly.

A rep for the actress tells TMZ, “There was a medical incident related to Carrie Fisher’s bipolar disorder. She went to the hospital briefly to adjust her medication and is feeling much better now.”

Fisher hasn’t yet decided whether she’ll head back to the ship for another performance.
