Biography

Catherine Turney brought many screenplays to Hollywood throughout the course of her career. Turney's film career started with such writing credits as the drama "Mildred Pierce" (1945) with Joan Crawford, "My Reputation" (1946) and the Eleanor Parker drama "Of Human Bondage" (1946). She also appeared in the comedic drama "One More Tomorrow" (1946) with Ann Sheridan. She continued her focus on film through the forties, penning the scripts for "A Stolen Life" (1947) with Bette Davis, "Cry Wolf" (1947) and the Ida Lupino drama "The Man I Love" (1947). Toward the end of her career, Turney wrote "Winter Meeting" (1948) with Bette Davis, the drama "No Man of Her Own" (1950) with Barbara Stanwyck and the Shirley Yamaguchi drama "Japanese War Bride" (1952). Turney last acted on "American Cinema" (1994-95). Catherine Turney passed away in September 1998 at the age of 92.
