Celeb Sightings: New Year’s Week

The stars have certainly been out and about and shining brightly in spots other than Hollywood this week, perhaps getting an early start on the New Year’s weekend festivities.

Earlier in the week, Aspen, Colorado, played host to a bevy of celebs.

Indeed, it appears the city is not only home to the slopes and the Comedy and Arts Festival. Today’s celebs, many of whom are part-time residents, also enjoy Aspen’s small-town vibe with a twist, as the city continues to a be an A-list favorite.

On Wednesday night, a Hollywood.com roaming reporter spotted Motley Crue bass guitarist Nikki Sixx talking to a beautiful girl at the members-only Caribou Club.

Sixx—real name Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna, Jr.—was married to former Baywatch beauty and Playboy Playmate Donna D’Errico until April, when the couple divorced. D’Errico cited irreconcilable differences.

On Thursday, the Hollywood.com reporter spotted Jennifer Lopez shopping in Aspen, and couldn’t help but notice that she looked gorgeous.

Friday brought out a whole new batch of stars: baseball slugger Barry Bonds was seen at the aforementioned Caribou Club; Paris Hilton‘s dad, Rick, was spotted dining at Cache Cache Bistro; and director Steven Spielberg was at Little Nell, a luxury ski resort located at the base of Aspen Mountain.

Aspen’s geography is desirable for stars as well, since it’s a relatively short private-jet ride from Los Angeles and even Park City, Utah, home to January’s Sundance Film Festival—which in recent years has become quite the celeb hotspot itself.

Some of Aspen’s famous part-time residents include Mariah Carey, Kevin Costner, Goldie Hawn, Jack Nicholson and Michael Douglas.

But with the weekend and ensuing parties fast approaching, celebs have migrated south, to Miami Beach. Long a favorite getaway for the Hollywood-weary, Miami Beach has truly become a veritable star-watcher’s paradise, with the likes of Matt Damon, among others, now calling it home.

On Friday night, a Hollywood.com reporter noticed a Sopranos coup: First Jamie-Lynn Sigler was seen having lunch at the always popular Shore Club, while at about 9 p.m. her TV brother, Robert Iler, was at Lincoln Road’s newest hotspot, Quattro.

Topping things off as the year’s biggest party and final night near was Lindsay Lohan, who was roaming the beach. Earlier this month, Lohan‘s publicist confirmed reports that the actress/singer had been attending Alocoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings to control her partying ways.
