Jennifer Lopez may swear she’s going to be nice on American Idol, but she’ still bringing the Bronx Diva out whenever she gets the chance. That’s exactly what she did backstage at the Golden Globes on Sunday when Ricky Gervais was wiping the floor with her fellow celebs (who need to go cry to their mamas because us regular folks thought it was hilarious). Lopez pulled Gervais aside and tried to spook him into leaving her alone – he didn’t but at least he didn’t grill her like he did Angelina Jolie and Hugh Hefner.
She told Access Hollywood, “I’m sure in his mind it was all in good fun. But in the room, being in the room it was like, eek… Then, when I go backstage to present, I’m backstage with Alec [Baldwin], we’re about to walk out, and Ricky shows up. I say, ‘Listen! I will kill you, you understand, I am from New York, my husband fights, we both fight, we will beat you up after the show… with a couple of bleep bleeps in there.”
Wow. That is actually probably the least threatening thing she could have said. What is she, a two-bit character from a 1980s Eddie Murphy movie? You can do better than that JLo! What happened to Jenny from the Block? In the end, she’s sure she scared Gervais, but I’m pretty sure there were just way too many other people with better reasons to merit a b-b-BURN from the comedian. I mean what can he say about Lopez? She’s married, has a few kids, lots of money and a wiry, yodeling husband. BORING.
